Inauguration of the Mazatlan Regional Center for Integral Rehabilitation

Quirino Ordaz and Rosy Fuentes put into operation this CRRI, where they invested 80 million pesos and has the most modern technology to offer various physical therapies.

Mazatlan.-As part of a personal commitment that became the first work begun in his administration, Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel and his wife Rosy Fuentes de Ordaz inaugurated the new Regional Center for Integral Rehabilitation (CRRI), which will more than double the attention capacity of the old facilities, where a few years ago the state governor himself received recovery therapy as a result of an accident that semi-paralyzed him.

Therefore, in his message, Quirino Ordaz, said that personally he has nothing but gratitude for all the staff of the CRRI, especially the therapists, who with patience and great tenacity help all people with some degree of disability to get ahead, as was his case, so he said that this meeting is very emotional for him and his family.

He recalled that less than a week after taking his protest as governor of the state, his first work as such was the laying of the first stone of this CRRI, project that his wife Rosy Fuentes carefully promoted, and even until now it was his inauguration because they were added new areas to the originally planned project, a total of 12 services that previously were not granted in the old facilities.

In that sense, the president of the DIF Sinaloa System, Rosy Fuentes de Ordaz, said that with these modern and extensive facilities, the objective is to make the services more efficient and thus reach an attention for 300 people daily, this is at its maximum capacity, which It will allow to grant around 350 thousand services per year, when 127,000 services were provided in the past. “That is,” he said, “it is estimated to increase the amount of services provided by more than 150 percent.”

“The inspiration of the life story of thousands of people with disabilities is what takes us today to be here inaugurating the new facilities of the Regional Integral Rehabilitation Center with a large investment of around 80 million pesos,” he said.

He thanked the governor of the state for being the number one driver of these new facilities and announced: “this work reaffirms that great commitment that this administration has, headed by my husband Governor Quirino Ordaz, with all those people who have a disability.”

During her speech Rosy Fuentes mentioned that from today thousands of families from the south of the state such as San Ignacio, Concordia, Rosario, Escuinapa and right here in Mazatlan, will be cared for and supported as they truly deserve it, with quality, warmth and professionalism.

The president of DIF Sinaloa shared that the CRRI Mazatlan has new areas, such as the Therapeutic Tank that has electric treadmills, underwater cameras, Electric Crane, and is one of the most modern and with the highest technology in Mexico. He stressed that this tank has technology that is used in European countries.

Ordaz Coppel pointed out that no resources were spared to provide the CRRI with the most modern technology, since it has a therapeutic tank, an underwater camera and even a crane to introduce the tank to people who can not do it themselves.

On the other hand, the state leader announced that in a month and a half later, the new General Hospital of Mazatlan, located right next to the CRRI, will also be inaugurated, which will also offer first class care, so that this sector of the city will be conformed as a therapeutic and medical complex of first level, as the Mazatlecos deserve it.

For his part, the mayor of Mazatlan, Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres, who was accompanied by his wife, the president of the Municipal DIF, Gabriela Peña Chico, acknowledged that he was impressed by the new CRRI, despite the fact that he has spent his entire life to the area of ​​health, being a chemist by profession, and therefore gave a sincere recognition to both Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel and his wife Rosy Fuentes de Ordaz for this great work of great social content.

On the other hand, he stressed that in less than a week the governor of the state has inaugurated and launched the construction of two world class works for Mazatlan, because just last Friday was here to lay the first stone of what will be the new aquarium, the largest in all of Latin America.

At the event, a message was also delivered by the delegate of the Integral Development Programs of the Government of Mexico, José Jaime Montes Salas, who acknowledged that by opening the Regional Center for Integral Rehabilitation, a sample of the support given in Mazatlan and the south from the state to people with some degree of disability, because works like these are aimed at providing greater social dignity.

The General Director of Rehabilitation of the National DIF, Rigoberto González Piña, also attended. He informed that 7 percent of the population of Mexico suffers from some kind of disability, and therefore he recognized the will and sensitivity of governments like Sinaloa, to provide to these families the opportunity for a recovery treatment.
