The legislators of the Congress of the Union prepare for the sale of 92 vehicles adding to the plan of austerity of the new government.

Mexico City.-  Just as the president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, will auction luxury cars and motorcycles owned by the government, the legislators of San Lázaro will also make their own “tianguis” of cars.

The Chamber of Deputies joins the austerity plan of the new government and is preparing for the sale of its fleet of 92 vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, of backward models.

The sale will be through a tender that will be organized by the Administration and Disposal of Goods Service (SAE) in the coming days.

“The cars we have are very old, to which we add others that we are going to give them an exit; It really is for the cost of administration and the new austerity law, is to be paying insurance, tenures and repairs, is a very expensive for the Chamber of Deputies. Right now nobody has cars [of deputies], all those that we have left there, let’s say, we are talking about 92 cars, “explained the Secretary of Administrative and Financial Services of the Lower Chamber, Juan Carlos Cummings García.

After disposing of these vehicles, the Legislative Palace of San Lazaro will only keep 14 units for the service of lawmakers and employees: six Van vans; two SUV trucks and six compact cars.

The decision to sell this fleet of units responds to an austerity plan, in addition to which it is more expensive for the Chamber of Deputies to continue with the payment of their insurance, tenancies, maintenance and repairs.

Among the vehicles selected for sale are: 32 Optra cars, 32 Cruze, three Eurovan, three Stratus R / T, one Dodge Nitro, eight Urvan trucks, one Ford Escape, seven Sentra and five motorcycles. The oldest car is a Stratus R / T 2005; There are several Cruze 2012; a 2007 Dodge Nitro and a 2008 Ford Escape.
