The best craft beer in Mexico is produced in Tijuana, Baja California

The craft breweries of this border city were imposed in the three categories analyzed by the global RateBeer ranking by country.

The national craft beer industry is experiencing exponential growth. Especially in Baja California, entity that houses craft breweries that consolidate the region as ‘the capital of artisanal beer in Mexico’. Particularly to Tijuana, a city that has won international awards thanks to its beers.

The most recent recognitions harvested by Baja beers come from RateBeer. This is one of the most important beer qualification platforms worldwide.

The list includes three awards per country: Best Brewery, Best Beer and Best New Brewery. In the case of Mexico, the awards were obtained by craft breweries in Tijuana.

In the first two categories, one of the pioneers in Tijuana craft beer production, the Cervecería Insurgente, stood out. His ‘Hops and Chill’ was considered the best beer in Mexico for the ranking. In addition, Madueño Brewing Company won the Best New Brewery category.

The users of the platform were the ones who selected the winners of the three categories mentioned.

Insurgente and Madueño have among their proposals different styles of craft beers that allow them to compete in the national market.
