Hotels report 100 percent of reservations for the dates of the traditional celebration.

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Hotels located in the Golden Zone report 100 percent of reservations for Carnival days. 

In a survey conducted by the hotel zone, the lodging centers reported 100 percent occupancy in the days of the celebration of the town’s maximum party. The lowest percentage that could be identified was 60 percent, however, they explained that the trend is to reach a total occupation, as almost every year. 

He explained that these numbers rebound a few days before the carnival begins.

Mazatlan, all sold for the next carnival. 

They detailed that the main market for this date is national tourism, especially from Coahuila, Durango, Chihuahua and cities of Sinaloa such as Culiacán and Los Mochis.

Positioning

Some interviewees commented that compared to other years, 2019 ‘paints well’, since reservations have increased faster. This is attributed to Mazatlan is in the eye of more people thanks to different events and conventions that have been made, in addition to the Tourism Tianguis held last year. 

They added that the remodeling that Mazatlan has suffered, although it meant a negative point at the beginning, now that they have concluded is a strength for the city to improve its image.

Also asked about the reservations for Easter, which are in an encouraging percentage, since the lowest is 60 percent, while the highest reported 90 percent.  

Lack of rooms

A sales manager commented that if there is any limitation, it is the lack of infrastructure since some visitors usually have problems finding accommodation.
