Mexico City.- It is well known that men are in charge of handling heavy units loaded with dangerous materials that put their lives at risk, but that all changed when the news came out that a woman was approved to drive a “Fuel Truck” loaded with fuel from the company Pemex.

This is María del Carmen, a woman who goes down in history as the first woman to drive this type of unit that transports some of the most dangerous materials in the world.

After being hired by the company, the woman commented that she came to apply and request an opportunity, which was positive.

“I saw her and said: ‘that’s where I am from’, I presented myself with all the paperwork and all the requirements, and fortunately we are on this side,” he said yesterday, once her new job was confirmed.

Of a total of two thousand 878 applications submitted until yesterday, only six corresponded to women, and of the 121 
hirings confirmed until the afternoon, Servín Vargas was the only woman who had achieved her goal.

E type license, which accredits her as a specialist in the transfer of hazardous materials


“I already went through everything, to sign a contract and luckily everything that is the selection circuit I passed without any problem,” she said.
