Durango, Durango was the second stop on the part of the delegation of the Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism, and Art of Mazatlan at the beginning of the promotional tour in some states of the Mexican Republic.
To the city of Durango, a ballet of Culture, the royal courtship of 2018, as well as the artistic direction of the Institute in charge of Linda Chang Gutiérrez were added. At a press conference held at the Mezcal Museum, the distinguished presence of Lic. Fabián Gutiérrez, Secretary of the Presidency of Durango; Mrs. Emilia Elizondo, municipal director of Tourism; Maestro Claudio Herrera, director of the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture as well as Luz Elena Rodríguez, director of Municipal Education.
In his speech, José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, Administrative and Finance Director of the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlan, thanked the hospitality and warm welcome from the authorities, also made an attentive invitation to attend the Carnival International Mazatlan to be held from February 27 to March 5 and enjoy the shows that will take place during the celebration in its 121 edition.
For his part, Fabián Gutiérrez, Secretary of the Presidency of Durango, on behalf of Mayor José Ramón Enríquez Herrera, said he was pleased with the distinction of the visit and emphasized that Mazatlán is the second home of Durango, so they do not have the least doubt that an important part of its inhabitants attend the maximum party of the Port.
In the afternoon, Paseo Durango square was activated to give a small sample of what is the great celebration of the International Carnival of Mazatlan with the presentation of dance with tropical rhythms to which the audience turned to applause and little to little were filling the space where the presentation was made.
It is worth mentioning that two ticket offices were set up in Durango for the sale of tickets for the different Carnival coronations, one located in Plaza Paseo Durango in the state capital and the other in the municipality of Santiago Papasquiaro.
