Next Tuesday could begin construction next to the museum

Mazatlan.- Next Tuesday, the construction of the largest Medusario in Mexico will begin, and it will be located within the facilities of the Mazatlan Aquarium, said Pablo Rojas Zepeda.

The general director added that it is only necessary for the project to be submitted for the consideration of the Aquarium’s board, and that once it is approved immediately, it will begin with the construction.

“It will be the largest (fish tank) in Mexico of the aquariums that are currently presented with jellyfish; this project is a little ambitious in this aspect, but they will be larger than the others, “he said.

These are two tanks with a dimension of 1.83 meters high by 2.44 meters long and with a capacity for six tons of water each.

There are two species of jellyfish that will be on display at the beginning, however, in a second stage it is contemplated that the system of reproduction of the species is put into operation.

“Initially it will be the exhibition and maintenance of these species, and at the same time the reproductive system will start to move,” concluded Rojas Zepeda.

The total investment for this project is one million 640 thousand pesos.
