The official Russian radio station Sputnik has confirmed under the words of the Russian Ambassador in Mexico, Víctor Koronelli, that the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador accepted the invitation to meet with Vladimir Putin.

Although there is still no talk of possible dates, because the visit requires preparation, the issue is already included in the bilateral agenda. Based on an initiative of both parties since AMLO was invited by Russia, the invitation was accepted.

In turn, the ambassador of Mexico in Moscow, Norman Pensado, said in an interview to the same radio that both presidents have open invitations to visit their respective countries, and that both had the interest to specify the dates of the presidential visits.

It is recorded that the last visit of a president from Mexico to Russia took place in 2005, at that time he was president Vicente Fox. Since then, no other president has returned to Russia.

Meanwhile, the United States had already asked the Latin American countries to put a stop to the Russian and Chinese influence in the region, so this news means a hard blow for the imperialist country.

For their part, Mexican citizens maintain their support for Lopez Obrador and his “Non-interventionist” and “friendship” policy with all the countries of the world.
