50 new restaurants in Mazatlan by 2019

2018 closed with the opening of 40 food establishments throughout the city.

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Given the good run in tourism, the restaurant sector estimates growth with the arrival of new establishments in Mazatlan.

The president of the local Canira, Oscar Palacios, said that 50 more businesses could arrive, against the 40 new investments of 2018.

He explained that there are already investments in the door by entrepreneurs from Durango, Chihuahua, Monterrey and even from the same municipality, to bring new establishments of international, American and seafood food.

For this year the restaurant sector is in favorable conditions. This year we closed with the opening of more than 40 businesses, so let’s hope that for this next year there will be more, maybe we will exceed that figure, reach 50, 60 business starts.

Palacios Gómez said that last year closed with an increase of 15 to 20% in sales, the same amount compared to 2017.

“We expected a higher demand in early December to start selling, and now we saw that spending the first fortnight still did not pick up, practically rebounded last week, the last ten days,” he said.

The leader of the restaurateurs said that so far there has been no increase in prices on the menus, due to the increase in supplies, however now that the season has passed it is time to reevaluate and make necessary changes with the adjustments.
