Culicacán, Sinaloa.-“From the moment the pipelines of Petróleos Mexicanos were closed, there have been no reports of fuel theft in this municipality”, said the secretary of Public Safety and Municipal Transit of Culiacán, Óscar Guinto Marmolejo.

The police chief said Pemex’s pipelines are “dry” for about seven months and since that time they no longer have reports of clandestine taps for gas theft.

Guinto Marmolejo said that now that the fuel is being transported in pipes, Pemex has not requested the support from the municipal police and added that apparently there have been no incidents as they have not had reports of dispossessions.
