Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The execution of public works must be on a par with the private one, said the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Mazatlan “Canaco”, Jesús Sandoval Gaxiola
He regretted that with the budget cut for public works, from 249 million in 2018 to 118 million in 2019, Mazatlan will not continue with the dynamics of the last two years.
“Mazatlan has had a lot of public works and some areas have been renewed, but we also see that there are many repaving needs such as Rafael Buelna, Camarón Sábalo, among others, and unfortunately the resources will be few,” he deplored.
The director of Municipal Public Works, Juan de Dios Garay Velázquez, warned that the budget assigned to this item will not adjust for the large number of projects that are pending, for which it requires at least five billion pesos.
Sandoval Gaxiola said that investment in public works will be less, and in private the municipal government has estimated growth of 55% compared to 2018, with 14 billion pesos, when it should go hand in hand.
He considered that the goal of private investment will be met, since the Tourism Tianguis has attracted investors, such as the six new hotels that come, as well as the maquiladora and aeronautics industry.
UNCERTAINTY
On the other hand, the business sector is in uncertainty, since there is an increase in electricity rates and federal taxes and hopefully soon the rules will be established so that everything will walk normally.
“It is true that the prices of electricity fell a little bit but at any moment they will rise again and increases in federal taxes were also announced, as it still does not land well how to do things,” he said.
He also said that January arrives and everyone wants to increase prices for everything, in addition to the instability in the price of gasoline and the dollar that drives the merchants out of control.
