Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The Aquarium expects to close with a good influx of tourists this year, said the head of coordination and public areas, Karina Domínguez.
Only on Friday 21, the Aquarium received 4 thousand 840 visitors, and from December 24 to 26, 5 thousand 371 people. They were mostly national tourists, said the coordinator, although there was also the presence of foreign tourists.
Even though last year he had a very high influx due to visitors expecting to see the shark, this closing of 2018 is expected to be similar.
He pointed out that really, the high seasons are summer and Easter, in which the national tourism crammed this center of entertainment.
Social program
He added that the Aquarium already launched the program “From the field to the sea”, which aims to take children from schools in rural areas of southern Sinaloa to give them a tour of the vicinity of the site and the boardwalk.
This program will be held once a month and will give the children the opportunity to get to know and marvel at the species found in this area. Dominguez said that the Mazatlan Aquarium will continue to seek to bring fun to low-income children.
Exhibitions
The Aquarium has four exhibitions that aim to educate viewers about the fauna found in their fish tanks: Diving, Sea Lions, Tropical Birds, and Predators.
He added that on Monday, December 31 will be open only from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the tickets will stop selling at 1:00 p.m., unlike the normal schedule, which is from 09:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
