The companies join in an advisory board chaired by Gustavo Pérez, director of Social Responsibility of Grupo Toks; and Juan Ignacio Díaz, CEO of Siemens.
MEXICO CITY – Siemens, Bimbo, Toks, and the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) will be part of the Alliance for Integrity Mexico Advisory Council, which seeks to develop and share best practices focused on combating corruption and promoting ethics and business integrity, as pillars to boost the development of Mexico.
In the context of transformation promoted by the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, this council focused on supporting actions against corporate corruption.
The chair of the board will be in charge of Gustavo Pérez, director of Social Responsibility of Grupo Toks; and Juan Ignacio Díaz, CEO of Siemens for Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America, as vice president.
“The fight against corruption is a priority objective that allows us to achieve a sustainable development that lasts over time and generates lasting value in society,” said Díaz.
He stated that at Siemens “we are fortunate to be witnesses and active agents in the promotion of integrity together with Alliance for Integrity, at a historical moment in Mexico where the fight against corruption has been positioned as a priority to eradicate poverty, promote democracy, fairness and fair competition in the market “.
This will seek to develop projects to combat corruption in the Mexican market and create fairer ecosystems that promote integrity and compliance in business, promoting sustainable development in Mexico.
It is worth remembering that the independent publication “Fuchsbriefe” recognized Siemens as the best compliance system of the 30 companies listed on the German stock exchange “DAX” and in 2018 it reached the first place in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).
Siemens and Alliance for Integrity have worked on collaborative projects for two years, such as the publication of the pocket guide No Excuses! Collective action that contextualized the Mexican reality on the 10 excuses used most frequently by employees to justify illegal acts, and offers clear arguments against them.
They also work in training in corruption prevention, through the initiative “From companies to companies”, where experts from large companies train representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with little or no experience in countering corruption within your own organization.
The advisory board is also part of the German embassy, Coparmex, the Social Responsibility Center for Sustainable Development Per se; the Citizen Participation Committee of the National Anticorruption System, Mexicans against Corruption and Impunity; the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Universidad Anáhuac México, among others.
