In Mexico City, the book “Oaxaca y sus Cocineras Tradicionales, Tesoro Gastronómico de México” was presented; the work contains 339 pages, 80 recipes from the state, whose culinary tradition was recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2010.

Produced by the Mexican Culinary Group, the sample aims to enhance the tangible memory and work of 77 teachers and three traditional master chefs of the entity, the state government said in a statement.

According to Adriana Aguilar Escobar, head of the Secretariat of Cultures and Arts of Oaxaca (Seculta), this art book or Coffe Table shows in detail a culinary investigation of each region of the state, through life stories that enhance the masterful use of endemic products and that are now publicized in a state, national and worldwide manner.

He also reported that the income obtained from its sale to the public will be delivered in full and transparent to the Association of Cooks of Oaxaca, chaired by the cook Celia Florian.

The book “Oaxaca y sus Cocineras Tradicionales, Tesoro Gastronómico de México”, is on sale at various points in Oaxaca.

It can be purchased at the restaurant Quince Letras, located on the street of Mariano Abasolo number 300, in the Oaxacan capital, and at the offices of the Tourism Board of the City of Oaxaca de Juárez, at a cost of 1,200 pesos.
