Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The governor of the state, Quirino Ordaz Coppel, received at the airport the president of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, in what was the first visit of the Tabasco politician to Sinaloa as the first president of the country.

Ordaz Coppel took advantage of López Obrador’s passage through Mazatlán , who landed in this city on his way to the northern area of Nayarit . In his meeting, the President of the Republic made a commitment with the Sinaloa governor to make a working tour of Sinaloa very soon, starting from Mazatlan, which will include Culiacán and Guasave.

Ordaz Coppel said that during his meeting with López Obrador, within the framework of the Conago, he raised Sinaloa’s needs.
Specifically, he explained the need to continue projects in the south of the state, such as the Santa María dam, and the irrigation district of the Picachos dam, among other things, such as the Badiraguato-Parral highway.

He indicated that in his talk with President López Obrador, he addressed the ambitious project to expand the dredging of the port of Mazatlán, as well as the remodeling of the same, which has been pending, and as in the case of the irrigation district of the Picachos dam, a project that, he said, already has a very important advance and it needs very little to start it off.

He said that the president of the Nation was very interested in finalizing those works that have been postponed for years, which will be reconsidered when López Obrador visits Sinaloa in January 2019.

We are delighted that you come to Sinaloa (President Andrés Manuel López Obrador), even if it is just a step, and we know that you have a great affection, appreciation to our state. Now that the budget comes, we hope that the strategic works come, he concluded.

They received the president

In this welcome to the President of Mexico, there were also the Mayors of Mazatlán and Culiacán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres and Jesús Estrada Ferreiro respectively, as well as the Mayor of Escuinapa, Emmet Soto Grave.

They were joined by the governor of Nayarit, Antonio Echevarría García, who continued with López Obrador the route from the Mazatlán airport to Acaponeta and Tuxpan, in the neighboring state, the ones most affected by Willa.

As for the damage caused by the meteorological phenomenon here in southern Sinaloa, specifically in Escuinapa, Quirino Ordaz Coppel said that there are still sequelae in some schools and roads, but that work is being done to repair them as soon as possible.

Infrastructure

Nayarit is an entity that requires a lot of support, assured Governor Antonio Echevarría García and his request to the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to lower Fonden’s resources to rebuild the towns affected by the hurricane. that had a positive response

The state executive stressed that the entity urgently needs support to dignify the hospital infrastructure. Health centers are over 50 years old and require full support.

The civil hospital, with 68 years, is already insufficient to meet the demand of the Nayarit citizens. Before there was a population of 700 thousand and today there are one million 200 thousand inhabitants.

Echevarría García said that the president is sensitive and is in favor of dignifying the medical units of the country so that citizens have better care in this state, which had been very abandoned, the governor reiterated.
