The website El Closet LGBT, published an article in which they express their enthusiasm and joy on the fact that, during the protest speech as constitutional president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador stated that “the government will represent rich and poor, free thinkers, a range of ideologies, sexual orientation, culture, educational level or socioeconomic status. There will be a real state of law for everyone. ”

It is the first time in the history of the country that a president of Mexico makes reference to the LGBTI community during his protest speech.

During his campaign, and on his first speech as president, AMLO declared that his government will respect and recognize the human rights of sexual diversity.

The LGBTI community expects that many things will change on the issue of sexual orientation rights during this six-year term. For now, it is a great start for them that the President mentions their community from the beginning of his administration, on in his inauguration speech.
