This Sunday morning, a group of young activists, associations and the direction of Ecology, headed by its coordinator Edgar Millán, carried out a beach cleaning in Olas Altas.

From early hours they gathered to collect the waste left by the sea on the sand, which was mainly wooden sticks and logs. They assured that the waste is due to the passage of hurricane “willa”, which caused landslides of trees in rivers that until now go out to sea.

With sacks and plastic bags, volunteers made sure to clean as much wood waste, as well as plastic cups or wrappings that were in their way. They assured that later they would be picked up by the public services management.

Enrique Millán, the coordinator of the cleaning day, stressed that this is one of the multiple works that are carried out for the benefit of the port since it seeks to improve the image of the city before tourism.
