Due to the proximity of the holiday season, the Secretary of Public Security, Ricardo Olivo Cruz, declared that the security operation Guadalupe-Reyes is about to begin, in order to protect those who will celebrate the end of the year festivities.
He stressed that security will be intensified in banks and ATMs, as many citizens come to have cash and are victims of assaults. In the same way, efforts will be redoubled in shopping centers.
The Secretary commented that the dog safety unit will be recovered.
He added that there have been complaints about the deficient service of the 911 emergency number, for which he announced a new telephone number with which the public safety complaints can be dealt with in a more efficient manner.
Olivo Cruz stressed that the arrival of 41 police officers is expected in the city of Mazatlan, who are recent graduates, and they will be received with a ceremony. He mentioned that he hopes that the support of these new elements will help improve security in Mazatlan.
