Hurricane “Willa” left four dead and 180 thousand affected in Nayarit

The government of Nayarit reported Friday that the death toll from the passage of Hurricane Willa increased to four, while 180 thousand people were affected and of these, 100 thousand lost all their assets.

The municipalities with greater affectations are Tuxpan, Ruíz, Rosamorada, Tecuala, Acaponeta, Huajicori, Santiago Ixcuintla, San Blas and Del Nayar, the state government revealed in a statement.

In a tour of the municipalities of Del Nayar, Rosamorada and Ruíz, where he visited shelters, Governor Antonio Echevarría reported that efforts are being made to bring food, blankets, mattresses and medical services to the affected areas.

To achieve this, he added, it seeks to repair the roads that were damaged to restore communication by land.

The president visited a shelter in the town of Los Medina, municipality of Rosamorada, where dozens of families were evacuated from the town of Pericos, which suffered floods Thursday night due to the overflow of the San Pedro River.
