Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- More than 200 travel agents from all over the country visited Mazatlan this weekend with the purpose of achieving more room sales.
The sales director of the Pueblo Bonito Hotel, José Gámez Valle, said that Imacop Tour Corporation, for 17 consecutive years has made this trip, to update the information of the agents and show the new face of Mazatlan.
He explained that this wholesaler generates over 25 thousand overnight stays for Mazatlan; around 65 million pesos and the expectation is to increase that amount for 2019
“Today, Imacop sells around 65 million pesos, that is the current impact and what we want, is for it to grow between 5% and 10% next year,” he said.
Gámez Valle pointed out that agents from Coahuila, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, Jalisco, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Michoacán, and Toluca, were in Mazatlan from Thursday to Saturday.
“They were working, visiting hotel properties, touring the city and surrounding areas that Mazatlan can offer as a destination,” he said.
In addition, he indicated that Mazatlán occupies fourth place in its sales, and has plenty of room for growth. The number one is Puerto Vallarta annually, it sells about 130 thousand rooms-night a year.
