Mazatlan Hoteliers file for protection against CFE

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Given the high costs of electricity , the lodging establishments of Avenida Del Mar will be protected, confirmed the president of the Tres Islas Hotel Association , José Ramón Manguart Sánchez.

He commented that these amparos are strongly promoted by the Mexican Hotel Association because in recent months the increases have been brutal.

He confirmed that there are some hotels that have already filed this appeal, because the payment of electricity bills , happened to be within the first three operational costs.

“There are hotels that have already promoted the amparo, it is individual, I have to say that, but it will be interposed collectively because this payment has gone to the first three places of our operation,” he said.

Manguart Sanchez said that this situation is worrisome for the entire sector since July receipts have skyrocketed considerably and although there is a commitment not to apply more increases in this area, the uncertainty is in force.

“This increase upsets the established sector, we are worried about this situation because by the end of the year there could be more increases,” he said.

The hotel leader said that they will hold a meeting with federal deputies and the new government to look for alternatives since the high electricity rates make the country less competitive.
