CDMX prepares for Day of the Dead celebrations

Considered one of the most important traditional festivities in Mexico, this has also become one of the main tourist attractions, so for this year it is estimated the attendance of about 2 million people to the mega offering and the parade of Day of the Dead that takes place in the Historic Center of Mexico City; It is also estimated that in this celebration an economic benefit of around 400 million pesos will be obtained.

The head of the Federal Secretariat of Tourism (Sectur), Enrique de la Madrid Cordero, (accompanied by the Head of Government of Mexico City, José Ramón Amieva), said in a statement that the third edition of the “Day of the Dead” parade “Will be held on Saturday, October 27, making a tour from Estela de Luz, Paseo de la Reforma, to the Zócalo of Mexico City.

For his part, the Head of Government of Mexico City, José Ramón Amieva Gálvez detailed that in addition to the parade, will also install the Mega Offering, with the theme of the directions of the cosmos, the way beyond or Mictlán, until the exhibition of catrinas, acclimated with traditional music and accompanied by handmade rugs.

In this edition of the parade, there will be two segments: “Life is a journey” (in charge of the Ministry of Culture of the CDMX) and “From tradition to the future” (in charge of the CPTM). Likewise and for the first time, the states of Oaxaca, Michoacán and Aguascalientes will be added under the “guest state” format, which will have a brand presence in an allegorical car with elements representative of each culture and tradition of the destination.
