Armed men attack shrimp boat off the Mazatlán coast

According to local newspaper Noreste, the first robbery of the current shrimp fishing season was recorded early Monday Oct. 1st, after a boat from the Alfredo V. Bonfil Industrial Park fleet was assaulted in front of the Three Islands, by armed men who took the shrimp.

The affected boat is called Don Roberto I, in charge of Édgar Pérez, whose crew was beaten by the criminals who fled in small boats.

The robbery was carried out by 10 armed men who surrounded the vessel Don Roberto I, aboard a panga and managed to extract shrimp from the cellars and also took the radio communication equipment.

The crew of the vessel Don Roberto I, were gagged and some of them were physically assaulted.
