Hurricane Rosa effects felt in Mazatlán

The effects of Hurricane Rosa are already beginning to be felt in the port of Mazatlan and in other parts of the state with rain, cloudiness and strong waves.

As it grows to a category 4, “Rosa” threatens to shed a lot more water over the already damped state of Sinaloa, a week after the tropical depression 19-E caused devastation in 11 municipalities, the death of three people and thousands of evacuees and damages to agriculture and people’s homes.

In the Golden Zone of Mazatlán, it started raining around 11:00 am on Thursday Sep. 27. Strong waves, high tide and the swell have impacted several beachfront houses and hotels along the coastal area.

According to Conagua, “Rosa” will bring more heavy rains to Sinaloa, Baja California Sur, Nayarit, Jalisco and Colima, so the National Civil Protection System warns of landslides and overflowing of streams, canals, dams and rivers.
