Walmart Mexico says that in the next few weeks, they will begin selling gasoline in four states.

The mega-company says they will begin with six gas stations located at their Sam’s Club, Walmart and Bodega Aurrera locations in Tabasco, Nuevo León, Veracruz, and Estado de México.

The company made the announcement late last week saying, “The venture into this business model allows us to complement our value offer and offer our customers and partners a comprehensive shopping experience.

“Now in one stop you can go to our stores and clubs to buy merchandise as well as recharge fuel safely, reliably and at a very competitive price,” said Gabriela Buenrostro, deputy director of Corporate Communication at Walmart de México y Centroamérica.

The company also announced that in July, the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) of Mexico approved their first permit for the sale of LP gas to the public.

The permit includes six municipalities of the State of Mexico including Ecatepec de Morelos, Tlalnepantla de Baz, Cuautitlan Izcalli, Otumba, Nextlalpan and Coacalco and will be for portable containers with a capacity of up to 10 kilograms.
