An alliance between Mexico and Germany will be key to the realization of the first international solar fair in the country.

The Mexico-Germany Energy Alliance signed in 2016 between the governments of both countries will be key to the realization of the first international solar fair in Mexico, organized by the German Deutsche Messe.

Solar Power Mexico will bring next year to the country more than 100 companies from Europe, United States, China, and Latin America, which will expose the most advanced solar sector internationally

Sarah Möller, a spokeswoman for this event, said that agreements were also reached with various Mexican-German organizations that will be strategic allies, such as GIZ, which advises the Mexican government on behalf of the German government.

Also, the Mexican-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be another ally together with Galo Energy, a consulting firm based in Mexico City and with more than 50 years in business development, public/government relations, financial structuring, regulation, and analysis. of policies.

In April 2016, the Federal Minister of Economy and Energy of Germany, Sigmar Gabriel, and the Secretary of Energy of Mexico, Pedro Joaquín Coldwell, signed the Declaration of Intent that initiated the Mexico-Germany Energy Alliance whose working group promotes bilateral cooperation for the transformation of energy systems.

In this framework, the first exhibition of Solar Power in Mexico will become the first B2B event of this sector in the country, said Sarah Möller, detailing that the event will also be held in partnership with the Chinese Sunshine Energy International Limited and the American Solar Power International.

He explained that in addition to having a wide range of photovoltaic solar energy, the fair will also exhibit the best in solar thermal energy, storage, generation by independent producers, supply, and management of smart power grids, among others.

For his part, Benjamin Low, Global Energy Director of Deutsche Messe AG, said the company chose “the ideal time for the first event because Mexico’s solar industry expects constant growth over the next decade.”

“In addition, Mexico’s energy policy is focused on strengthening renewable energies in general and solar energy,” the executive added in a statement.

The exhibitors range from manufacturers of cells and solar panels, photovoltaic systems, parts and components, new technology and tracking systems, as well as traditional power plants, to managers of planning and development, systems and service providers, and installation experts.

Another ally for the event in Mexico will be the SNEC PV Power Expo, the largest photovoltaic fair in the world held in Shanghai, China, with 200,000 square meters and which in 2018 brought more than two thousand exhibiting companies from 95 countries and regions around the world.

Deutsche Messe organizes the main industrial fair in the world, Hannover Messe, and is one of the main event organizers worldwide since 1947. It currently manages 130 fairs attended by 3.5 million visitors and 40,000 exhibitors, being a leader in this sector at a global level.

In Mexico, it operates as Hannover Fairs Mexico, where it plans to convert Solar Power Mexico into the country’s most important solar energy event in March 2019 at the Centro de Exposiciones Centro Citibanamex.
