Venados participated in the legendary Pacific Coast League, and won 5 championships in 13 seasons.

In 1945, the first professional baseball league of the Pacific Coast was created in Hermosillo, Sonora. Mr. Teodoro Mariscal was the representative for Mazatlán and was appointed president of the league.

Venados is one of the founding clubs of the legendary Pacific Coast League that was played between 1945 and 1958, for a total of 13 seasons, and Mazatlán won 5 of those titles.

The first baseball stadium was called “Estadio Mazatlán” and was inaugurated in the port on November 20, 1942. The new stadium, was inaugurated on April 26, 1962, and later would take the name of Teodoro Mariscal, in honor to the man who founded the team.
In 1978, Mazatlán hosted the Serie del Caribe for the first time.

In the 2004-05 season, the highest achievement for the institution would come, as they were crowned champions of the Mexican Pacific League (Liga Mexicana del Pacífico) for the sixth time in January; and in February of the same year, Venados won the Serie del Caribe, at the Teodoro Mariscal stadium.

(The Serie del Caribe is a baseball tournament in which the winning clubs of the Confederation of Professional Baseball of the Caribbean (CBPC) participate. Cuba, Panama, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Each team can be reinforced with the best players from the rest of their corresponding national leagues).

In the last months, the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium of the Club Venados de Mazatlán has gone through an important process of remodeling and expansion. Venados invests their own money in this work, since the stadium is part of their heritage, and they are committed to preserve, rehabilitate and expand Teodoro Mariscal Stadium. The Club is contributing 80 million pesos (4.2 million dollars) to complete the construction works and preserve the concession.

It was announced by José Antonio Toledo Pinto, Executive President of the team, that Teodoro Mariscal Stadium will be 100% ready for the official re-inauguration on October 9, and to host the first Venados game of the upcoming 2018-2019 Mexican Pacific Baseball League, against Charros de Jalisco, on October 14.

And last but not least, it’s important to mention that the institution carries out socially and environmentally responsible activities such as the Reto Challenger, in which the team members, coaching staff and managers together with their families, went personally to perform cleaning tasks in some of the most popular beaches of Mazatlan.

Los Venados are undoubtedly one of the greatest prides that the city has, they are an example of perseverance, discipline and continuous effort, a real role model for the children and youth of the Mazatleco society.
