Located in the center of the city of Durango is the Francisco Villa Museum, a place full of culture, art and above all history. José Doroteo Arango Arámbula, better known as Pancho Villa, was originally from the state of Durango and the undisputed hero of the revolutionary exploits.

This building was the most important palatial construction in all the north of New Spain due to its size of 6200 m2 and it was the seat of the Government of the State for more than 180 years.

It has a beautiful baroque style façade with a wavy cornice and finishing in the rectangular windows; in addition to an arcade and in its interior it conserves murals of the history of the country and of Durango, realized by gift Francisco Montoya de la Cruz, Manuel Guillermo de Lourdes and Jose Luis Sandoval.

This museum consists of 16 rooms distributed on the ground floor and the top floor of the old building known as Zambrano Palacesome of which exhibit infographics, models, objects and photographs about the personal and revolutionary history of the General of the North; as well as graphics, videos and other interactive computer resources that together produce an atmosphere and a first level museographic experience.
