Tourists prefer destinations such as Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, where costs are lower

The high costs of lodging in some hotels in Mazatlan have caused the Association of Travel Agencies in Durango to reduce their trips to the port and channel them to destinations such as Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

The rates, says Gina Rivas Díaz, president of the Association, have risen by up to 100 or 150 percent, without “all-inclusive” services, which has reduced trips by 30 percent.
