In the first half of 2018, 1,413 cruise ships arrived at several ports.

According to statistics from the Directorate of Ports and Merchant Marine, from 1 January to 24 June, 1,413 cruises arrived at different ports in Mexico, representing an increase of 20 percent over the same period of 2017.

It was also announced that the number of travelers registered a considerable increase since up to June 24 there were four million 80 thousand 718 passengers compared to three million 459 thousand in the same period last year, which implies a growth of 17 percent.

These figures consolidate Mexico as one of the main tourist destinations in this sector worldwide; more and more people choose to vacation in this format due to the cost-benefit ratio that it offers.

Finally, according to Ruth Leal, director for Latin America of Princess Cruises, Mexicans prefer cruises to Europe, the Caribbean, and Alaska, with Mexico City, Nuevo León, and Jalisco being the cities where most cruise passengers come from. Mexicans
