Months ago, when the remodeling works of Olas Altas were finished, it was decided to make that space exclusively pedestrian, for the safety of the visitors and to avoid damages to the porphyry installed in the streets.

“It is no longer going to be a pedestrian zone, as the owners of local businesses have requested,” said the Municipal President, Joel Bouciéguez Lizárraga.

Later, he indicated that during the change of the Canirac’s board of directors, in meetings with restaurant owners and hoteliers, they requested the opening of Olas Altas every day of the week, so the decision was taken, at state and municipal levels.

The Mayor said that security measures will be followed, and the presence of Municipal Transit and Public Security will avoid incidents in this important touristic site.

“We have to take care of the area, we have to take care of the people, the security measures had been improved, increased and corrected,” Bouciéguez Lizárraga concluded.
