New railway signage at Mazatlan’s Avenida Pacífico crossing

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The new traffic signals recently installed at the railway crossing on Avenida Pacifico or Peche Rice, are now up and running, and working just fine.

The sensors are active, the alarm can be heard as the train approaches,  and immediately the bar is activated and it goes down, to yield the cars from the moving train.

Many motorists are surprised to see the equipment work. And they should be… since the work had a cost of 3.5 million pesos.

This is one of the 4 most dangerous railroad crossings in Mazatlán and it has claimed lives throughout the years.

It is expected that the new railway signage will avoid accidents.
